“You’ve got to have models in your head. And you’ve got to array your experience
– both vicarious and direct – on this latticework of models... You must know the big ideas in the big disciplines and use them routinely
– all of them, not just a few.”

Still here? Wondering why we’re launching ModelThinkers? Well...
Because most people only use a handful of mental models.

Everyone uses mental models. They’re the ideas, cognitive shortcuts and frameworks that we use to understand and act in our complex world. The problem is, most people only use a handful of models, often unconsciously, to deal with every single challenge.

Because growing numbers of successful decision makers, entrepreneurs and innovators are using model thinking.

The alternative, championed by Charles Munger and gaining popularity amongst executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators, is to embrace a conscious approach to thinking with mental models.

Model thinkers actively draw mental models from diverse disciplines and incorporate them into a dynamic cognitive latticework. With each problem to face, every decisions to make, and internal bias to interrupt, model thinkers are able to switch between a variety of connected models to understand deeply, re-frame creatively, and take impactful action.

Because today, more than ever, we all have to be smarter.

Model thinking has always been an unfair advantage and now, in a world gripped by a global pandemic, accelerated digital disruption, and who knows what next, it’s simply what we need to survive.

And because you’re crazy busy and don’t have time to do this the long way.

It would be wonderful if you had the time to read thousands of books and interview experts from countless fields to hunt down the best mental models in the world. Then it would be brilliant if you had the space to identify key takeaways, consider how to connect models for your needs, and commit them to memory so you can apply them in your life and work.

But let’s face it. You barely have time to read this, right?

That’s why we’re launching ModelThinkers... to empower you to be smarter, faster.

ModelThinkers does the heavy lifting to make this powerful way of thinking more accessible to everybody. We’re excited to be on this journey and hope you will join us — the world needs more ModelThinkers.

Yours,
Co-Founders of ModelThinkers

Wait, you’re still here? Want to know more? You really don’t like surprises do you?

We’ll be sending out preview screen shots via our newsletter, so be sure to sign up. But... Since you asked, and stuck around until the end, here’s a quick breakdown in plain English.

ModelThinkers will launch with over 100 summarised mental models with more added each week. Each model features a diagram (see some below), a brief overview, and key actionable takeaways. You can also dig deeper by exploring examples of how the model is used in practice, its limitations, tips about how it might fit into your latticework, and follow links back to the model’s source or originator.

ModelThinkers members can save models to their personal latticework; use a simple quiz process to embed them to memory; add notes to any model; join in with the community conversation and special events; and create new models or pages to capture any other takeaways you pick up from anywhere.

Plus there’s a blog section with tips, stories and expert interviews about how to combine and apply mental models to a range of challenges and disciplines.

Again, see examples of the diagrams below and sign up to ModelThinkers News (at the top of the page) to receive a discounted membership offer and invitation to our virtual launch event.

Now that really is it (for now). Thanks for your interest :).
